Now my 10 minutes of spare time during Sunday mornings will be filled with joy! Didn’t come with any games, though. I’m considering a few titles: Prey, Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell Double Agent. Money is short though, so I’d better buy one of these and be happy for a several months. Any recommendation?
Another option is to go “alternative” and be banned from Live in no time. Not really what I’m looking for right now…

Gears Of War, Crackdown and Just Cause.

Check out Gears of War. I’m not a big gamer but I love it.

In fact, I’ll make you a little public wager: you don’t like Gears of War, I’ll buy you a second title. I have no dog in this fight, I just don’t want someone I respect to waste their money.

Oblivion!!!
GOW is great. The single player is a bit short.
Guitar Hero is a lot of fun. A bit pricey since you have to but a guitar (or two).
Viva Pinata is excellent. If you get that instead of something with guns and blood, people may talk :P

Gears is a great game. I’m not a huge FPS lover so I don’t know if I would have enjoyed it as much if I would have played through it solo. I also don’t think that once I beat it I have a huge urge to go through and play it again. So far the game that’s had the most replay value for me has been Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Although you really only need something you can play until October when GTA IV comes out…that will likely be a must have.

I was thinking of getting an XBox but I don’t see more than a couple games I would actually buy for it. I’m more of a “Wii” guy – I prefer Nintendo games like Zelda or Metroid. That said… I have “Prey” for my Mac and it’s pretty decent. There’s some adventure thrown into the usual FPS mix.

Er… what does this mean? Just curious – I don’t know anything about Live.

Rhywun, that means changing the CD driver on the xbox so it can read other medias, not only the official. Then you can download games and burn yourself for 1/100 of the price of an original copy. Microsoft, however, can detect that somehow and ban you from Live forever.
Not something I plan to do then.

Gears of War bored me to tears when I played it.

I highly recommend Ninja Gaiden Black. This game is seriously challenging, seriously rewarding, seriously frustrating, and seriously fun. Should also checkout the classics, Halo and Halo II. If you are into racing the only way to go is Forza. Gorgeous cars and difficulty settings that scale nicely from noob to no mercy.
I feel I’ve shared too much of my inner game addict :)

Oh no, I got one too! And WOW I am impressed with it. The more I play it, the more I like it better than the Wii. I really missed using a normal controller.
